Entry Restrictions for Tinker Fest - Please read carefully

Entry to Tinker Fest is restricted to school students, their parents, school teachers/co-ordinators and principals:

  1. Students MUST come in school uniform and carry school id card. 
  2. Parents MUST be accompanied by child. If you are dropping off your child or want to come back later, please collect badge from the registration area.
  3. School teachers and co-ordinators must carry their school id cards.

Workshops

Who can attend workshops?


Students between 7-18 years can register to attend Workshops and acquire new skills and get exposure to new technologies. There is no fee for workshops.


NOTE: Registrations are closed for all workshops as seats are full. You can try on the event day, if there are any cancellations, we can take in students, on a first-come- first serve basis.

Game Designing

Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2 pm

For ages 8-18

Learn how to design a game with internationally acclaimed "rockstar" game make Rajat Ojha. He will walk students through the process of designing a game in this hands-on workshop. Students will make a game using their imagination and creativity. Just bring pencil and paper, no computers /laptops / ipads. No prior knowledge is required either.

Hour of Coding

Computers are everywhere. They are phones, cars, elevators, ATM machines or even home appliances. But ever wondered how computers work? Computers understand a programming language that instructs them to do a certain task. In this workshop, we will use some fun learning tools to instruct the computer to perform tasks. After this workshop, you will know what goes into building that favourite game or app.

Lego Model Making

For ages 7-12 years

In this workshop, students will learn to use Lego building parts and mechanisms to make models like pen bot, digital accessories, wearables etc. They will exercise their creativity and develop hands-on building skills to make a model from just an idea that comes to their mind. 

3D Printing

For ages 10-18 years

In this workshop, students will be introduced to the world of 3D Printing. It will help them develop 21st century skills like critical thinking, visualization, spatial, analytical and problem solving. It will also develop their creativity and confidence.

Mobile App Making

For ages 12-18 years

In this workshop, students will learn how to build their own mobile phone application for Android phones, be it an alarm app or their own game. They will learn programming using MIT App Inventor free software.

Students must bring their Android phone

Robotics

Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 1:30 - 3:30 pm

For ages 12-18 years

In this workshop, students will learn how robots work and key principles of Robotics. The participants will experience hands-on-learning to  build and program interactive robots using sensors, motors, wheels, axles etc.
