Where will Tinker Fest be held?
Tinker Fest 2019 shall be held at Don Bosco Park Circus School. The address is 23 Darga Road, Kolkata 700017.

I am a school teacher, my school is not participating. Can I still attend?
Yes, school teachers are most welcome to attend Tinker Fest. If you have a school id, please carry it with you and show it at the venue.
I am a school student. Can I attend the event even if I am not participating?
Yes, you can attend the event to see an exhibition of the projects made by students of schools who will compete with each other to be in top 50. You may also enjoy the other parts of this Superhero themed event. Student should come dressed in Superhero costumes and carry their school ID card.
I am a school student. Can I participate in the competition even if I have not been selected in the school team?
Yes, you can register for the competition as an individual or as a team. Each team can have a maximum of three participants.
Is there a fee to attend the event?
No, there is no fee to view the exhibition. However, you will need to register in advance to participate in workshops, talks and individual competitions at the event. There is a fee of Rs 300 per person for workshops and Rs 500 per person for individual competitions.
Can parents accompany their children at Tinker Fest and attend the event?
Yes, parents are most welcome to join their children at Tinker Fest.
Our school is unable to participate. Can we still visit with students /teachers?
Yes, schools are most welcome to send their students to attend Tinker Fest even if you are not participating in competitions. You may register for workshops and talks as well.
If our school does not have a project in top 50, can we still visit with students/teachers?
Yes, even if your school does not make it to top 10 of the Innovation competition, you are most welcome to send you students and teachers to attend Tinker Fest. We would love for students to come in theme based costumes. If not, please bring students in school uniforms and with ID cards.
Will we get certificate of participation even if we don't win?
Yes, everybody who participates in individual competition, will get a certificate upon presenting a valid school id and registration badge.
What is the vision behind Tinker Fest?
It is a celebration of innovation and creativity in children. We aim to encourage students to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) subjects. Tinker Fest gives a platform to students with similar interests to meet, exchange ideas, gain knowledge and be inspired by each other.
What is the process to take part in inter-school innovation competition?
Schools and student teams can take part in this competition. Here's how:
How many projects will be selected?
Top 50 projects from classes 6-12 will get a chance to exhibit their projects in Tinker Fest on Saturday, November 16, 2019
Top 50 projects from classes 1-5 will get a chance to exhibit their projects in Tinker Fest on Sunday, November 17, 2019
As a school, how many projects can I submit?
Each school can submit a maximum of 10 projects under each age group, out of which, it is mandatory to submit at least one project on Sustainability and one should be a Tinker Fest theme project, i.e, Superheroes. Other projects are optional and can fall under any theme or category. Only selected projects among the ten, if shortlisted, will be displayed at the exhibition. A school may have none or as many as 10 on display depending on the quality and selection criteria.
How many projects can an individual student or team of students submit?
Individual students or student teams can submit a maximum of three projects.
How many students can take part in each team?
A team can have a maximum of three students.
Is an overlap of categories allowed for the projects to be submitted?
Yes, such projects can be submitted.
Will a school from outside Kolkata be provided with accommodation?
No, there will be no accommodation provided in such cases.
Can a participant of inter-school competition take part in other events?
Yes, a participant of Innovation competition (whose project is displayed at Tinker Fest) may take part in other events like workshops or individual competition. However, a school representative needs to be present at their booth to explain the projects to the visitors. Prior registration is required to participate in workshops, talks and individual competitions.
What are Individual competitions?
Individual competitions are live competitions that will happen at the venue. You do not have to submit any project before the main event.

As a participant, when is the latest I can arrive?
You need to arrive at least half an hour before the event you are participating in, to collect the registration card.
Will I be provided with accommodation, if I come from outside of Kolkata?
No, there will be no accommodation provided in such cases.
As a participant of individual competition, do I have to wait till the award?
No, the participants of individual competition need not wait till the award ceremony. They may go and come back for the award ceremony with the registration card given to them prior to the competition. The parent/guardian of a participant can also take the award on their behalf by showing the registration card.
Is there any on-the-spot registrations?
All individuals are encouraged to register online for workshops and individual competition on our website prior to the event. Spot registrations are possible only if seats are available and on first-come-first-served basis.
